Report
The Telegraph newspaper in Kolkata ran a news report (given below in its entirety) early this week on how a village on the Tropic of Cancer (Trilokchandradevpur) was virtually sleeping in tatters due to an acute scarcity of blankets in a cold winter.
Janab Yusufbhaisaheb Mohyuddin, aamil sahib of Kolkata, responded with speed. He messaged this to the hazrat of Huzurala Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (TUS) who immediately directed that every needy villager be provided a blanket.
The 85 year old aamil sahib drove three hours to the village on Tuesday and delivered the blankets by hand. These blankets (800 in all) were given to every member below the poverty line not only in Trilokchandradevpur but another ten villages. The distribution was coordinated by village elders.
Most villagers had just one question: ‘Which political party are you from?’ They found it inconceivable that a maulana in remote Gujarat could empathise with their condition and spare a thought for keeping them warm this winter.Below is, The Telegraph carried a picture of Janab Aamil Sahib in its edition on Wednesday.
