HOW DO YOU DISCARD YOUR OLD TOPIS ?
Some days back, while travelling, I saw a beggar on the pavement wearing our Topi, The Topi looked faded and very old, maybe it is the result of someone's laziness in discarding the Topi.
The Topi we wear is a gift from Hudaat Kiram AS. Topi is Taj of the Arab.
Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Maula RA has said in Bayan Mubarak, "Je Topi Pehne Chhe, Ehna Matha Par Maro Haath Chhe".
Still many fail to Obey, why ?
Should I assume that people are not aware of ways to discard Topi, or are they simply not concerned ?
There are many ways Topi can be discarded with respect without much effort.
I asked about this to my friends, relatives and also on networking sites and app and got some good suggestions, Firstly, thanks to those who helped me with this, Much Appreciated!
Let's Analyze the points.
WAYS TO DISCARD TOPI:
IMMERSE IN SEA OR RIVER:
The first thought that comes in our mind is to immerse it in the sea and it will sink, but what if it keeps floating and gets dumped on the seashore, anybody can use it.
CUT INTO MEDIUM SIZE PIECES AND IMMERSE:
Cut the Topi in medium size pieces and then immerse. This one is safe as even if it will keep floating, nobody can use it.
OPEN TOPI AND THEN DISPOSE:
This one is another safe way of discarding. Open the last knot and pull all the threads, that way Topi will be converted to threads and can be discarded safely.
CUT INTO PIECES AND BURRY:
This one is also very good, but it has to be burried deeper so that it does not come out in rainy season.
GIVE THE THREAD TO TOPI MAKER:
Nice one, but cannot be implemented as quality and colour of the new Topi will be affected.
GIVE TO PERSON IN NEED:
As far as I know, one cannot give Topi to anybody to wear. Don't know how far I am right, Correct me if anyone has any idea about it .
GIVE IN MASJID:
Give to masjid so that people coming for namaz can wear, Don't agree with this point as Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Maula RA has taught us to wear Topi everywhere in our shop, office, while eating and even at home, so how come anybody come to masjid without Topi ? This point would make sense if it was about Musallah.
And please don't leave the things (thandu karvani) that you wish to discard in masjid.
These are the ways of discarding Topi that I have come to know, if any mumin has any more ways to Discard Topi with respect, Do share.
In the same way, we should be careful while discarding our Rida. In my earlier post, RIDA - OUR IDENTITY , I have discussed about the misuse of our Rida.
Fatemaben had commented on Rida - Our Identity post, She wrote," Apnawala has to learn that when discarding old Ridas, we should cut the upper part of it in a way that it becomes useless for others to employ in the same manner as ours". I strongly agree with her.
Also make sure you give your old Rida to the right person, make sure that person is not selling the Rida in exchange of money. As it is said, It is always better to Ask than to Regret.
Rida and Topi should not only be worn with respect but should also be discarded with respect.
May Allah SAW grant us the Taufiq to Perform Khidmat as per Khushi Mubarak of Our Beloved Aqa Maula Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Maula TUS. May Allah Grant Long Life to Our Beloved Aqa Maula TUS, Aameen.
Hi Rashida ben, would like to share my thought with you as per this article your last point "GIVE IN MASJID:" is something improper because - agar tame khuda na ghar maaj bagair libas aavo cho aem sochi ne ke vaha milse toh ea Gair Munasib che, bakle barabar libas ane tayari karvi joiye.
ReplyDeleteSecondly some have habits to keep at Mazar place, making it like a trash..its also improper.
Hello, you are most welcome. Yes I too don't agree with this itlej Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Maula RA aapnu zikar kidhu chhe ke aapye apna ne su sikhayu chhe....And aapno second point post ma add kidho chhe, thank you for raising that point.
DeleteHi Rashida Ben , I would also like to share something...regarding a point on " Give to person in need"...apne sagla ney moula ni thali nu jaaman ghare..ghare avey che ane je thali apva ney bhai ya bhen ave che...apney emney topi api sake che and we can also give them ridas...
ReplyDeleteHello Zainab ben, you are most welcome to share your views and Thank you so much..... ben mane Topi nu toh nai khabar ke koi ne apai ke nahi, but Rida aap aapo ehma koi problem nathi but make sure ke ae ben ae Rida ne pahense ehne sell nai kari de koi ne, mane ek ben ye kidhu hatu ke jene ae Rida aapta hata ae ben Rida ne sell kari deta tha Vasanwala ne and then ae ben ye Rida ae ben ne aapvu band kari didhu.
Delete"REDUCE RECYCLE REUSE"
ReplyDeleteOld cap can be used by one say while at home, while visiting toilet, and if its thread is
opened out it is good enough for reuse for other purposes.
In my opinion one should not discard a cap,as while knitting a cap much effort, love and
skill have been involved, which deserve to be respected.
Yes right bhai, but how many Topi you will keep for this purpose, it will keep piling up, hence ehne full respect saathe thandi kari devi jove, with the proper way it should be done.
DeleteYes bhai you are right one has to put heart and soul for making a Topi.
To reclaim the thread and put to good use ! It's so easy.
DeleteThanks for making people aware of the importance of properly & respectful way of discarding the old topi & rid as. In India it's easy but in foreign countries It's very difficult.especially ridas
ReplyDeleteThank you so much ben for appreciating it......Yes right....we can also make kids clothes say jhabla izar from our Rida, but make sure if you are discarding it cut the pardi in such a way that it cannot be used further.
Deleteyes very good article
ReplyDeletebut mostly baddha thandu karwaanej kahe che ne hame pan ammaj karye che
apne topi na threads nikaline thandu karsu, thts very good idea
Thank you....Yes but agar ehna pieces kari dayye ane pachhi thandu karye toh ehno koi misuse nahi kari sake....
DeleteI would like if you could create an article on the preservation of condition of a new topi
ReplyDeleteThank you for the idea.....In Sha Allah will try and gather information and post it....
DeleteHello Rashida Ben,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the nice article, I would also like to share my point on it, here in emirates there was one committee which received rida and kurta izar in good condition (after dry-clean and ironing) and shortlist as per the condition and cargo it to many places (i.e. in yemen and india) with the help of local jamat coordination and then they distribute it to the needed people. In the same way topi can be collected (After washing and starch) and shortlisted. Many of them can be distribute to the needed people and rest should be discarded through the proper way as mentioned in your post.
Hello Huzefabhai,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the acknowledgement......You are most welcome to share your views.....Yes, this idea is very good, this way we can assure our Rida and Topi reaches safely to the right people....somebody should take this initiative....
how to discard our deeni books
ReplyDeletehow to discard our deeni books ?
ReplyDeleteRashida ben i usually make my home dress as ghaghra and make my top with ridas pardi so we can keep wearing it more at home too as ghaghra is already ready to wear only we have to make top from pardi that is also very easy and it helps in budgeting and stitching awareness which Maulaa TUS wants from us Je Mighzal tayyar kidu apne Sherullah ma ema si apne apnu shugul bhi banavi sakiye che ne apna kapra nu istemaal bhi thaye also we can make jhabla izaar for little girls .Topi suggestions are good k thread kari ne ehne reuse kari sako cho jem k kroshiya work ma lai sako cho ye pachi crafts ma use kari sako cho agar golden che tau so make best out of our used clothes.ridas ni aces cut kari ne u can make many other items too or can preserve those laces fro new ridas too .This how we can make use of our Mind and Physical levels too ,Isn't is amazing ?
ReplyDeleteHello, Durratben
DeleteYes ben aapna ideas ghana fine chhe.....Aapnu ghanu ghanu shukriya share karva vaastein.....Aapni laces ni bhi idea ghani fine chhe...Thank you...

ReplyDeleteVery excellent nd awaring article
I like ur idea of immersinf topi after opening to its thread
I wld also like to comment on some pts
1)topi is crown so cutting it don't sound good
2)giving to some one in need ,how long will u keeep on pssing one day it has to discard
I wld like to say tht while immrsing deeni thngs if we put sone hevy stones in tht bag it will sink to botttom although bag is heavy it will come to surface so stones will help to make it sit to bottom

DeleteThank you Ben for giving us such a precious piece of information
ReplyDeleteWelcome ben.....Pleasure is mine.... :) Maula ni Dua chhe....
ReplyDeleteHi Rashida Ben,
